| Which emulator is better?
GGPO
Pros
- No input lag, even on long distance connections (more global players available?)
- Input lag tweaking options available. (if you are capable of playing with a 6 frame delay, you can have smooth - games against people in Japan).
- Live spectator mode
Cons:
- Both players need their firewall ports correctly configured to get a connection.
- Needs a high spec machine to avoid the time-warp (frame-skipping) problem.
- 3rd strike suffers black line bug.
- Lag affects the % of inputs being 'dropped', consequently making super moves harder to execute on long - - - - distance connections (normally over 80ms).
- Sometimes excessive button bashing (e.g. recovering from stun) can slow the game down completely.
- Few games supported.
- Spectators can affect playability of games.
2DF
Pros:
- More games supported.
- Player stats are enabled for certain games for bragging/ego rights.
- Low-spec machine friendly.
- No firewall configuration needed for accepting challenges (needed for hosting challenges).
- Specials/supers come out more consistently than GGPO.
Cons:
- Input lag much more noticable even on local connections (at least 2-4 frames), changing certain games - completely.
- High pings
- Every game is recorded and made publically available (no privacy...?)
- Ranking system may be subject to abuse (xbox live style dropping, to avoid getting certain win/loss registered).

| 101% agree with DF, you read my mind DF  but on the edge I am with GGPO due to live match....  9/10 to 2df 10/10 to GGPO from me | |

| I mostly prefer 2d because the things mentioned above But for GGPO the things mentioned by DF is not known to me until now  I am able to play on GGPO without entering any entries in my firewall/router???  I get an bug/error/glitch or whatever you called while chatting that I got a Black screen with the chat words??? (already shown the screenshot to DF). I read in official forum that you have to change your blitter settings??? Anyone here guide me for that? | |

| well ggpo is fast and smooth thts why all pro prefer ggpo
2df is ok for connecting but cant compare the gameplay and smoothness

| 2df seems like fast coz of minor jerk make it fast glicthes and stuff hard to define player who play with timming can understand this only | |

| oh my dear it was just a joke well nowadays the biggest problem in GGPO is game synchronization. firstly GGPO is harder to connect and 2ndly when it connect sometimes the game for P1 and P2 is different  unless we disconnect it and start again | |
