KOF 98 vs KOF 2k2 (Which is best in gameplay?)

Normally, most of people like to play kof 98 and I can say it is more famous than kof 2k2. I create this topic to get points why people like 98 or 2k2 mostly. We will talk about gameplay not about graphics or sounds etc.
I am 2k2 player. I like it but 98 is more attractive to me because of huge competition and gameplay.

KOF 2k2 Advantages (IMO): Guard crush is helpful to pressurize your opponent. Max combos are short way to win. If you don't have dodges, you can still win with your speed (I do). And last advantage to me is, I start my kof game from this part.
KOF 2k2 Disadvantages: Guard crush is pain if it happen to you. Max combos make you crazy when lands on you. So fast game in some matters, hard to pull out many combos for an average player.

KOF 98 Advantages: Combos are not so tough as 2k2 I guess. Max mode is useful in vs. Variety of characters. CD counter takes more damage than 2k2. Don't have those strong kim & billy. Grapplers are strong than 2k2 e.g. daimon, clark. Heroes are strong than 2k2, Kyo & iori.
KOF 98 Disadvantages: I got only one disadvantage of kof 98 yet. That is, strong Daimon.

Anoher reason I found why 98 is better than 2k2 is, I started evil chris combo with d+B, d+A then fwd+A then any move, I can see if d+B, d+A connects than I'll do rest of combo if it doesn't than I'll stop. But in 2k2, you have to be sure that your combo will hit than you can do that combo. A funny reason.

for me in 98 there are too many strong chars even a non player can perfect the players like goro evil yashiro ralf iori but in 2k2 the skills are very important (exception billy and kim) but still in order to play with kim need lots of skills

So my point is 98 is easy to play that is why more people play kof 98 and in 2k2 it took time to become a good player that is why less people play 2k2

Kof98 is comparatively easy than kof2002. As Leon said,. KOf2002 is comprehensive part if you know how to play kof2002 you will surely play rest of parts. I felt kof98 players feel hesitation to join kof2002 thats the reason its hard to play.
But for me kof98 has easy moves and combos and people like to play.
Second main point I must say is the era, from 1990 to 2000 the gaming zone were on peak. Arcade centers were every where. While it goes to 2005 or but the interest and the circumstances gradually decreased. Simply people who played kof98 were more in quantity.
Thats about Pakistan story. In south America kof2002 rocks.

bcoz kof2002 mai ik charge aur cancelation bhi de di gai hai jis ko use karnay mai acha khasi time de na paray ga aur hath set karna parega.........!!!!!!!!!!

98 bht simple hai aur combo bhi but 98 mai bhi ziadha challenge hotay hain.......!!!!!!

Dude if a non player can perfect the players like goro yashiro so he is not a non player anymore. well i agree with u 98 is little handy as compare to 2k2 bcz of its timings of moves. its slower thats why its easy but 2k2 timing is faster and little hard so it took time to set on hands.

If we talk about mind game and strategy playing then 98 is better then 2k2 but another element comes with 2k2 that is speed so if i rate on mind game 98 is 10/10 2k2 is 9/10 but if i rate on speed than 2k2 is 10/10 and 98 is 7/10 so ultimately 2k2 wins for me

Bro if u talk of mind game than how can u rank kof 98 higher than kof 2002 as u allready said that the speed of kof 98 is slower than kof 2k2.

Ek bat to ap sab ki thek hi lagti hy keh 2002 khelnay wala baqi parts khel leta hy aur boht jaldi game bhi bna leta hy kiun ke us ne 2002 jaisa hard part khela hota hy. Hard speed aur combo timing ke lihaz se.
Mgr men 98 ko vote don ga because 2002 men agr ek dafa ap ne combos pe hath set kr lia aur vanessa angel maylee type characters pe skill improve kr li to aap ko VS ka experience ziada na bhi ho to bhi aap ziada jeto ge mgr 98 men ziada experience wala player hi top pe rehta hy.
Aur ye ke 98 ko seekhna mushkil nai, boht kam arsay men seekh ke aap competition men aa saktay ho mgr kof 2002 ko pehle lamba arsa seekhna parta hy due to hard & fast combo timing.

2002 advantages : speed, supercancels and cancels in max mode are very attractive, attractive maylee,vanessa and angel plays

disadvantages : unlimited angel combos, takuma changed badly(he lost his charms), bad ryo, bad music and sound FXs,

kof 98 advantages : music and effects are better, diversity of characters(same as 2002)

disadvantages : very strong daimon,iori and oroshi chris, the body to body chopper can be done far and body to body DM too. very limited speed.

i vote for 2002 (if 2002 have had music like 98 and characters like shingo,king,shizuru) it will be best fighting game for all times for me.

Slow speed means u have time to think than what mind games fast speed means less time and more strategies more pressure
